‘“Every 3.24 minutes, a dad acts like a buffoon.”

That’s the conclusion of a small study done by a student at Brigham Young University after watching eight hours of the two most popular Disney “tween” shows featuring families. The results of the research — “Daddies or Dummies?” — are not particularly surprising.’


Disney films and television programs teach contempt for fathers.  This statement is not surprising to anyone who has viewed very much of their product.  They do this because Disney and other corporate sources of meaning wish to supplant fathers.  Fathers are a threat because we harken back to more primal and personal sources of meaning.  The corporate state and the insect economy seek to atomize people, making them free to move around and command.
