Last evening, I finally downloaded all of Bernard of Clairvaux’, including his Commentary on the Song of Songs, works. I had been prodded into doing such by Gregory of Nyssa’s similarly titled work.

There is probably no other commentary on The Song of Songs more influential in the western Church than is Saint Bernard’s.

I have been slowly reading Gregory of Nyssa’s Commentary on the Song of Songs. After finishing it and letting my “heartburn”, I will then need to read St. Bernard’s interpretation.
