Eric Metaxas: “a hollow, brightly painted shell called “America” will soon exist where America once stood”

“America is in an existential crisis no less serious than the one we faced in the Civil War. Or the crisis before that, when our nation came into being in the Revolution. For the first time in a century and a half we are facing the imminent vanquishing of the republic, except there is no John Bull or Johnny Reb to fight against. We are being hollowed out silently from within by termites — and a hollow, brightly painted shell called “America” will soon exist where America once stood.”

Ridiculous! What is being hollowed out is the special privilege of the current Baby Boomers. Remember the American dream? It isn’t just for connected white men anymore. Get used to it.

Easily identified. Look at the Forbe List of 100 wealthy in the USA. Tell me it isn’t anymore just for the group you mentioned. They get richer and more are on government assistance than ever before. The Dream is shattered alright, but it created a class that will never get out of the gutter. They are pacified there by Liberals who want to keep them there as slaves to the establishment and they were not put there by the elites you mentioned.

Would you please explain who you are aiming that accusation at, and what you mean by it?

“Ridiculous! What is being hollowed out is the special privilege…” What a boat load of fatuous nonsense you pen. Special privilege needs to be fought wherever it is found and whoever it is marked for…and in that there is no special privilege…those who want special privilege range from the wealthy to the poor, from white to black, from citizen to foreigner. What is killing the country is a massive eruption of special privilege and the demand for more a la Venezuela and our fate will be no different than theirs if we don’t put a stop to it.

Stephen , the baby boomer EARNED every damned “privilege” they got, unlike the snowflake complainers you’re obviously one of. Everything he said in that article is true, stupid lazy college students, invasion of the US by illegals, and allowing immigration of people who hate us and our way of life and laws is going to take us down.

I am in so much pain over the reality that you are talking about. I know God is in control and that He has a plan and knew this was coming, but I am sick about how lost people are and how to communicate that truth in love. I think we are getting just what we, as a society, have asked for, help us Lord

The first step is identifying the termites.

I served 25 years in the Army, and Army reserves. One of the reasons, I believe that all lives matter, and are worth defending. Sadly, today, there are those that think that if a man puts tape all over a cat, he should go to jail for animal cruelty (no disagreement there), and it’s cruel and unusual punishment to execute a murderer. But think it’s OK, to abort a baby, a person waiting to be born. It used to be, that going to college, and become successful, was a good thing. But now, there are those that slander the successful, calling them disgusting, lying things, to wrongfully justify, the stealing from them through excess taxes. Now there are those, that practically go on a rampage, when we say all lives matter, as if it was a vicious, racist crime. These are encouraged, by the cancer in the US Govt, and the lamestream news media. We had the courage to take on tyrannical govts in WWII, but now we cower at the thought of calling Islamic terrorists, what they really are, thugs and cowards, who think nothing of murdering us, our women, and children. Although we shouldn’t mistreat those who are sexually troubled, but it is amazing, and wrong that we are subjected by those in authority, their demand that we allow the sexually troubled into the bathrooms, showers, and changing rooms of the opposite gender, in contempt, trying to take away our right to defend our families and loved ones. This is not about race anymore. It is about whether or not we allow liars, thieves, slanderers in Govt and the lamestream news media, to cause or nation to implode, and become a tyranny. It’s happening before our eyes, and I fear that I’ve wasted my time in the military.

I can’t agree more. We no longer stand for everything while trying to stand for everything. We have lost sight of right and wrong in lieu of appeasing everyone.

Many of the true adults in our society are actual adults because they learned discipline and respect in the military. Thank you for your service.

Will be left? To paraphrase an famous quote, “America is a sink, where every sewer of the world pours its filth.”

Great anecdote for the great vexation and anger in these perilous times.
